HOW DO I KNOW IF THERAPY IS FOR ME?
Therapy may be right for you if you have ongoing emotional and/or mental health issues that are impairing you being the best version of yourself. However, therapy can be for anyone. There doesn't have to be a problem for you to seek out therapy. Being proactive and having routine check-in's for your mental health is important also.
HOW LONG WILL I BE IN THERAPY?
This differs for every person as it varies by condition and treatment type. For example, Solution Focused Brief Therapy can be shorter in length than maybe Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. During your first session we will tailor a customized plan for your needs.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT IN MY FIRST SESSION?
This of course happens following a 10-15 minute consultation call which we complete to assess for fit. In the first session you can expect for me to ask a series of questions. We will discuss current stressors, duration of stressors, goals for therapy and the plan for ongoing sessions.
ARE THERAPY SESSIONS CONFIDENTIAL?
Therapy sessions are always confidential as outlined by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). However, there are some limits to confidentiality in terms of legality. We can discuss this further in your consultation call or intake session.
